Organic Noise (In Process)
Painting, Noise, Machine

Participating in Takashi Makino's workshop, I tried to scrawl on a shot 16mm positive film and experienced the Pulfrich effects and the Norman Mclaren’s pen point percussion. Since the length of the film has limitation (looping is not a good solution), I started to think about making this piece into a continuous interactive process. I came up with the idea of making a handmade playful film projector, an interface which allows the viewers to 'hurt' the film, therefore, bringing changes to the images as well as the sounds.

Sunday, February 26, 2017
Instead of connected to sound inputs, channels of the mixer were connected with each other. By trying different compound modes, I found one with the most abundant sounds. Therefore, by 'composing', a piece of noise performance were created by this no-input mixer. And the mixer itself, became an instrument.
